Sisters :
The Methodist Action Program recognizes the need to improve the quality of life and enhance the vitality of the community that we serve. Currently, in the city of Wilmington violence is occurring at astronomical rates. Along with that, the Wilmington area and surrounding community is suppressed by drugs, teen pregnancy, poverty and high-school dropouts. Our program, Sisters, is committed to providing support for young girls in the Wilmington community that increases their opportunities, assists them in socialization and provides them with mentoring. The program seeks to reduce risk factors and increase protective factors to ultimately combat the strongholds of negative behavior.
It is our sincerest belief that Sisters will establish a Rites of Passage and open new doors of opportunity and commitment to excellence.
